HIIT CLASSES

Want to get a good sweat on while you are building your strength? Wisco Barbell Club’s HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) classes are a perfect way to drive towards your health goals while participating in a fun and involved fitness community. These classes typically run a little under an hour and feature a variety of exercises from ‘the big four’ barbell movements (Squat, Bench, Deadlift, Overhead Press) as well as more functionally focused movements like weighted lunges and jumps. You will be building strength and improving your conditioning with these classes.
PERSONAL TRAINING

Want a more personalized approach to meeting your health goals? Wisco Barbell Club offers personalized strength training classes where we will work with you to develop a customized progression and hands on classes to get you to your health goals. These classes typically focus more on progressive strength development with barbell movements and other assistance movements. This is the best option if you have specific strength or fitness goals and want a customized approach to meeting them.
WHY STRENGTH TRAINING
Strength training is the most effective form of exercise with the most benefits for your mind, body, and life longevity. Below are some scientific findings from the Health and Fitness Staff at Mayo Clinic.
#1 Efficiency
Want to reduce body fat, increase lean muscle mass and burn calories more efficiently? Strength training gives you the most bang for your buck for those who have limited hours to work out.
#2 Develop Strong Muscles and Bones
Your body fat percentage will increase over time if you don't do anything to replace the lean muscle you lose over time. Strength training can help you preserve and enhance your muscle mass at any age. And as a bonus, by stressing your bones, strength training can increase bone density and reduce the risk of osteoporosis.
#3 Enhance Your Life Quality & Longevity
Strength training enhances your quality of life and improves your ability to do everyday activities. It protects your joints from injury and contributes to better balance to reduce risk of falls. Strength training can also reduce the signs and symptoms of many chronic conditions, such as arthritis, back pain, obesity, heart disease, and diabetes.
#4 Improve Your Mental Health
A large new analysis of meta-studies finds that exercise is more beneficial for conditions such as anxiety and depression than standard psychotherapy or medications. It is considered the first-line treatment for mental health and not just an added extra.
